Description

The Live-in Caregiver Program is a special government program, whose objective is to bring workers to Canada to do live-in work as Caregivers, when there are not enough Canadians to fill the available positions. A live-in Caregiver is someone who provides care to children, the elderly or the disabled in a private household.

Steps To Take
Two general steps that must be taken in order to have a live-in Caregiver come to Canada.
1. The Employer must first apply to Service Canada for the job offer to be approved.
2. The Caregiver must then apply to Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) for an Employment Authorization in order to work in Canada.
